Two college basketball stars from Davao City are set to bring their basketball talent in the next season of the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MPBL) in June.
University of the East (UE) scoring machine Alvin Pasaol, who has decided to forego his final season with the team in the coming UAAP season, is set to play for the Bataan Risers in the MPBL.
Before signing a contract with the Bataan Risers, Pasaol was one of the most exciting college basketball players to watch in the country.
A resident of Agdao, Davao City and a former player of the Holy Cross of Davao College Crusaders, Pasaol earned the nickname of ‘Baby Tank’ in the league due to his unstoppable offense and commanding on-court presence.
In addition, San Sebastian College-Recoletos Stag Allyn Bulandi is also set to play in the MPBL with the Basilan Steel.
The versatile scorer is expected to infuse young blood into the team.
Playing in his final year in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the 6’3” Bulandi is set to play for Basilan at the end of the coming NCAA basketball season.
Also part of Che’Lu Bar and Grill in the current PBA D-League season, Bulandi is only one component of a retooled Basilan team that is undergoing a massive build-up for the coming MPBL season.
Among the players recruited by the Steel this season are Jay Collado and Hesed Gabo from the Quezon City Capitals; Gab Dagangon from the Bataan Risers; Bobby Balucanag, Shaq Alanes, and Jett Vidal from the Pasay Voyagers; Michole Sorela from the Navotas Clutch; and ex-pros Jonathan Uyloan and Tonton Bringas.
