2 Franklin Baker workers die in DavSur crash

DAVAO CITY — Two Franklin Baker workers died in a fatal vehicular accident at the National Highway Zone 1 in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur on Wednesday afternoon.
Jose Osayan Mompil Jr, 42, alongside his passenger Arnel Lira, 43, both residents of Barangay Zone 2, Santa Cruz, died when their motorcycle was accidentally side swiped by a Toyota Hi-Ace commuter van driven by Erwin Tampipi Uno, a resident of Kiamba, Sarangani Province.
Initial investigation of the Santa Cruz Municipal Police station disclosed that both vehicles were travelling towards the same southbound direction when the incident happened at around 1:20 p.m. on November 6.
Mompil and Lira sustained several injuries on different parts of their body causing their death.
The van driver is now temporarily held at Santa Cruz Police station for further investigation and proper disposition of the case.
