5.8 magnitude quake hits Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed teams to assess structural integrity and damages of key infrastructure in Ilocos Norte and Tuguegarao ater the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that hit the area of Pagudpud at 10:48 a.m. on Monday.
Build Build Build committee chair Anna Mae Lamentillo said the public can send reports, inspection requests, and rescue operations on damaged infrastructure brought about by the earthquake to the hotline numer 165-02, which is open 24/7.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of 15 kilometers.
The reported Intensities are as follows:
Intensity V - Pasuquin, Bacarra & Laoag City; Tuguegarao City
Intensity IV - Paoay, Ilocos Norte
Intensity III - Sinait & Santa, Ilocos Sur; Sudipen, La Union
Intensity II - Baguio City
Phivolcs advised residents in nearby areas to take precautionary measures due to expected aftershocks.
