Barangay kagawad, 3 others arrested in drug buy-bust

DAVAO CITY -- A 46-year-old barangay kagawad in Lubogan, Toril in this city was one of four persons arrested on Friday, September 6, by the operatives of the Toril Police Station in a buy-bust operation.
Police Regional Office (PRO) Xl director Brigadier General Marcelo Morales said kagawad Marcelo Papalid Ramos, who was a high-value target, was caught in a pot session with three other drug personalities.
Morales identified the three other individuals as Jimmy Sayman Abi-Abi, 42, embalmer, a resident of MacLeod Street, Barangay Toril Poblacion; Rogelio Pedeles Tayan Jr., and a 27-year-old makeup artist (name withheld being a woman).
According to Morales, Sayman was the subject of the buy-bust operation.
Confiscated from the suspects were 11 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with an estimated value worth P45,000, one improvised lighter with improvised needle, one improvised tooter, and one cellular phone.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied on Monday against the suspects, who are now under detention in Toril Police Station.
