DAVAO CITY -- The City of Davao bagged the 2018 Kalasag (Kalamidad at Sakuna Labanan, Sariling Galing and Kaligtasan) award for the second tie in two years for exemplary programs of the Central 911 team in terms of emergency response.
Central 911 head Emamanuel Jaldon said the Gawad Kalasag award that they have received for two consecutive years only confirms the good practices that the Central 911 is doing.
“This recognition is for our exemplary performance in the emergency response. We are very grateful for this,” he said.
Jaldon also credited the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) for its efforts as partner agency in emergency response.
Central 911 was established by the city government 17 years ago for faster response in times of emergency.
City Administrator Lawyer Zuleika Lopez thanked all the staff of Central 911 for their efforts in responding to any form of emergency in the city.
“Hopefully if we can get this award again next year we will be a hall of famer. Thank you to all the staff of Central 911 for their exemplary performance,” she said.
Gawad Kalasag is one of the most prestigious government awards that a city can receive. It comes with a P100,000 reward.
