Business owners will soon be able to pay their business tax online through the Land Bank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) to avoid the hassle of lining up at the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO).
In an interview, City Treasurer Erwin Alparaque said the city is now finalizing the agreement with DBP while it is waiting for the go signal of Land Bank to fully start the online payment.
“We are now ready for the online payment. We are just waiting for the go signal of Land Bank but any time now the online payment will be fully operational,” he said.
Alparaque said business owners whose main offices are located in Luzon or Visayas can do their transaction online.
“This is very convenient for the business owners. Wherever they are they can pay their taxes and prevent delay,” he said.
Alparaque said business owners who pay online can either get their receipts from the CTO or choose to use the receipt that will be sent to them.
Last Saturday, the CTO recorded a total of P21 million business tax payment from over 1,300 business owners who settled their business tax since the business renewal started on January 3.
