DAVAO CITY -- Five men were arrested as the Regional Special Enforcement Team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) backed by police operatives dismantled a suspected drug den in Barangay Pampanga, this city on Monday.
PDEA 11 director Antonio Rivera identified the arrested suspects Rainer Sandoval, Joven Wabina, Lionel dela Cruz, Almar Impas, and Sherwin Martin.
Rivera said Sandoval was the one who maintained the drug den while Wabina brought the illegal drugs. Dela Cruz, Impas, and Martin were suspected drug den visitors.
Rivera said all suspects were arrested at around 9:50 p.m. on July 8, 2019 at Block 13, Lot 12, Emerald Street, Barangay Pampanga, this city.
He said seized from the suspects were around 12 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth of P180,000, marked money used in the buy-bust operation, and several illegal drug paraphernalia.
Rivera told MDM the suspects were under monitoring for 15 days after PDEA received information from a concerned individual about the illegal activities.
Rivera said cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
The five arrested suspects are now detained at PDEA's detention facility.
