The Davao South Regional Football Association (DRFA) U15 team has expressed confidence it can reach the national finals of the 2019 Philippine Football Federation (PFF) U15 National Championship in Metro Manila in November.

Alex Adolfo, head coach of the DRFA team said in order to reach the finals and win the national crown of the PFF U15 National Championship, they need to focus on hard work more than winning.

"There is a chance for us to win but I always tell my boys to focus more on hard work because winning will just come if you put effort into your work," Adolfo said.

Appearing at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Annex of SM City Davao, Adolfo said he is confident that his team can win its second game in a row when they host Iligan Lanao del Norte Regional Football Association (ILRFA) today at the Davao City-University of the Philippines (DC-UP) Sports Complex in Bago Oshiro, Tugbok, Davao City.

Adolfo said his team has been training hard for the U15 tournament and is highly capable of beating the visiting ILRFA.

Adolfo's team earlier beat Davao del Norte FA 2-1 in an away game at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City on July 6.

He said four teams from Mindanao will make it to the finals in November.

"The Mindanao eliminations will end in August where the top four teams will make it all the way to the national finals," he said.

Adolfo said there are three teams they need to beat in their bracket: Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley, and ILRFA.

"All the teams in Mindanao are strong but I am confident we can make it all the way to the national finals,'' Adolfo added.

The nationwide tournament was organized by the PFF to determine the top under 15 FA in the country. Both the Luzon and Visayas legs of the PFFU15 National Championship are also underway.
