DavSur info offcer, wife arrested for syndicated illegal recruitment

DAVAO CITY -- An information officer of the Davao del Sur Provincial Office and his wife who is a barangay treasurer were arrested for alleged sydicated illegal recruitment by Davao City police operatives in a major anti-terrorist clearing operation on Friday in Padada, Davao del Sur.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief Police Colonel Alexander Tagum identified the couple Sherwin Maquited Cesar, 46, information officer of Davao del Sur Provincial Office based in Digos City, and his wife Joy Luy Madgus Cesar, 44, barangay treasurer of Barangay Poblacion, Padada, Davao del Sur.
Tagum said the two were arrested at their residence in Tomas Claudio Street, Poblacion Padada at around 2 p.m. on June 15 by operatives of Sasa Police Station (Davao City) on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued on May 27, 2019 by Judge Ronald Tolentino of Regional Trial Court 11 Branch 52 for syndicated illegal recruitment.
Tagum said Davao City police personnel made the arrest in Davao del Sur because the case against the couple was filed by a resident of Panacan, Davao City.
Tagum said aside from the couple, three other accused are still at large.
Meanwhile, Sasa chief of police Major Reuben Libera said the operation was in close coordination with Padada police station.
