Davao City Water District held the Citywide Amazing EcoRace on November 24, 2019 as part of the celebration of November as Water Consciousness Month. The Citywide Amazing EcoRace was a ridge-to-reef 18-kilometer marathon from DCWD Matina office to Dagat Fiesta in Lanang, Davao City. Along the route, participating teams were required to stop at five stations to challenge their wits on water and environment topics.

EcoRace was designed as an engaging way to strengthen DCWD’s advocacy on water conservation and environment protection. It is in this light that the proceeds of the race were donated to the forest rangers of Bantay Bukid guarding Mt. Tipolog-Tamugan Watershed. This event was conducted together with the Watershed Management Youth Council and Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability and in partnership with Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon Dabaw.

Out of 53 teams, emerging as champion was Team Palaka with members Genesis Manguera, Edison Sampaga, and Nikko L. Magbia. First runner-up was Team Kokak with members Marvin Incipido, Emerson Banatasa, and Sherwin Alano; second runner up was Team Marahan with members Denmark Bañes, Julius Labadan, and Meljie Maaliw; and third runner up was Team Froggy with members Ryan Abello, Cris Valmoria, and Rio Jay Verano. All winning teams received medals with corresponding cash prizes.
