President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Tuesday night, through the help of Senator Bong Go, promptly responded and approved the request of a cultural performing group based in Baguio City.

Composed of students, out-of-school youth and children, the Ayoweng Di Gangsa Cultural Artist Federation wrote Duterte a letter dated April 6, 2021 informing him of their growing number resulting in scarcity of “attires, bahag, tapis, gangsa” and “cultural instruments.”

It further stated they had to “borrow or rent” from stores in the province leaving them  “dismayed.”

The performers asked “Apo Tatay Presidente” for his “unending and Fatherly support” by providing an “estimated” P680,000 worth of clothing and equipment for the tribes of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao and Kalinga.

Philippines' most popular President did not disappoint.

In a video message taken by Go, Duterte, who just woke up, said, “namulat ang mga mata ko sa sinabi ni Bong na may kailangan kayo para sa kapakanan ng mga tribal diyan sa Cordillera.”

“Ok ako. Approved ako diyan,” he humbly announced.

The group’s adviser Niño Ruelo Barzaga profusely thanked Duterte for his quick action.

“Thank you so much Mr. President Rodrigo Roa Durterte sa pag-grant ng request,” he shared in a Facebook post.

He pointed out that “wala pa 24 hours, may tugon na po kayo.”

“Sure po ako matutuwa ang mga bata,” he said. “From my heart, thank you so much po.” MDM
