DAVAO CITY -- The City Tourism and Operations Office (CTOO) on Saturday, August 17, stopped the operations of a tour company for offering packages through Facebook without the necessary permits from City Hall.
The CTOO and the Business Bureau went to a meetup point of Princess Adventours allong Torres Street here and stopped a tour from leaving for Bukidnon after it was found out that the company is not allowed to conduct business because it lacks a business permit.
CTOO head Gene Rose Tecson said the company has no physical office and operates only through Facebook.
"They insisted that their permits is under process but that should not be the case. They need to have permits first before they can operate,” Tecsons said.
She said the Business Bureau has no records showing that Princess Adventours is processing its permits.
“The Business Bureau doesn’t have any records of them. The van that they are using is also colorum,” she said.
Tecson said the city will file charges against Princess Adventours unless it complies with the necessary requirements.
“We will continue to inspect and go after other online tour operators,” she said.
Tecson said her office will continue raiding all travel tour operators operating through social media that do not comply with the necessary requirements.
