Former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go prays at the Carmelite Monastery before heading to the Buhangin Central Elementary School to cast his vote.

DAVAO CITY -- Before heading to the polling precinct to cast his vote on Monday, former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) and senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go visited the Carmelite Monastery in Lanang, Davao City to pray and light a candle.

And what did he pray for? “Good health for President Duterte and enlightenment for me so we can both better serve the Filipino people,” Go said in an interview after casting his ballot at the Buhangin Central Elementary School.

He said he chose to pray at the Carmelite Monastery because the Carmelite Sisters have been long-time friends with him and the President.

Go said he thanked the sisters for their continued prayers for the President.

He also thanked the teachers and government workers who served and helped in the orderly conduct of the elections.

Go arrived at the Buhangin Central Elementary School at around 9 a.m. and, declining to be given VIP treatment, lined up with the other voters.

He waited in line for 2 hours and 40 minutes before finally voting at 11:40 a.m.
