DAVAO CITY -- Police on Wednesday morning arrested a government nurse and a companion for allegedly selling prohibited drugs inside an inn in Cabaguio Avenue, this city.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 director Police Brigadier General Marcelo Morales identified the suspects as Denver Balibado Arinzol, 32, a registered nurse working at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), and John Baluyot Manaueto, 39, a resident of Garcia Heights, this city.

Morales said Sta. Ana Police Station conducted a buy-bust operations at 1:25 a.m. on August 7, 2019 and arrested Arinzol after he handed over a sachet of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to an undercover agent.

Police seized three sachets of shabu with estimated street value of P4,000 from the suspects.

Police sources said Arinzol had been placed under surveillance after authorities received information about his alleged illegal activity.

The arrested suspects are now detained at Sta. Ana Police Station pending the filing of charges  for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

"We have our vision of a drug-free community and we must do our job to achieve that vision,” Morales said.

“So, we will not stop until every single sachet of illegal drug in the region is wiped out and that every drug pusher is put behind the bars of justice," he added.
