DAVAO CITY -- The Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings remain undefeated in the third season of the Davao Pride Basketball League (DPBL) after disposing of the Philippine Academy of Sakya Red Dragons on November 15 at the Rizal Memorial Colleges Petro Gazz Arena.
The Kings overcame a touch challenge by the Red Dragons to secure a commanding 79-65 win, which is their third victory in as many outings.
JMC forward James Payosing scored 20 points to carry his team to victory against the Red Dragons whose 3x3 team landed a fourth-place finish in the recent national finals of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) 3x3 tournament in Manila.
The Kings capitalized on fastbreak points to break down the Red Dragons’ defense.
Kurt Magbanua scored 18 points for the Red Dragons in a losing effort.
The Red Dragons now stand at a record of 2-2 in the tournament.
