Man shot dead after stabbing bus passenger

DAVAO CITY -- A 41-year-old man was shot dead by police after allegedly stabbing a passenger inside a bus along C.P. Garcia Highway in Davao City this morning.
Police identified the suspect as Junie Luceño. According to his sister, the suspect had not been himself after arriving in Davao City from Ormoc City, prompting the family to send him home.
The incident happened in side a Golden Valley Bus past 7 a.m. on January 8. The suspect and his sister were on their way to the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal in Ecoland when the suspect suddenly stabbed a 33-year-old passenger in the head.
The suspect then disembarked but was caught by a police officer belonging to the Traffic Group.
The police officer ordered Luceño to drop to the ground. The suspect, however, suddenly stood up and tried to stab the officer, who was prompted to shoot him.
The incident caused a major traffic jam along the highway.
