Three suspected drug dealers were arrested with P3.4 million in shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in a buy-bust operation at the parking area of Harbor Square in Manila past midnight Wednesday.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) identified the suspects as Graciano Rombo, 34, a resident of Tanza, Cavite; Roderick Pisig, 35, a resident of Taguig City; and Alican Pagayaw, 31, also a resident of Taguig City.

Police said the arrest was made through a joint buy-bust operation conducted by the NCRPO Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), Manila Police District, Station Drug Enforcement Unit 9, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Police said the suspects were arrested after an undercover agent bought 200 grams of shabu worth P250,000.

The operatives seized a total of five plastic bags each containing 100 grams of suspected shabu, totaling 500 grams with street value of P3.4 million.

The NCRPO said the drugs were sourced from Cavite province, with the suspects operating in the southern part of Metro Manila.

“Their modus operandi is to deliver illegal drugs to the pushers who are mostly tenants of different condominiums in Metro Manila. Condominuims are used as their safehouses/hide outs to protect and avoid any detection of their illegal activities due to a thighten security measures,” the NCRPO said.

The seized pieces of evidence were immediately brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory Office for qualitative examination. Appropriate charges are being readied against the suspects.

NCRPO director Major General Lorenzo Eleazar said buy-bust operations have been successfully engaged with the cooperation of condominium management.

"Itong tatlong ito ay ginagamit na mga courier na nagbabagsak ng iligal na droga dito. With their arrest, meron tayong mga information na nakuha para magsagawa ng ating mga case bulid-up and eventually, we are hoping na magreresulta ito sa iba pang operations against other members of the group," he added.
