Overheated electrical appliance causes fire, 32 families displaced

DAVAO CITY -- A total of 32 families were dispalced when 29 houses made of light materials were razed in a fire that broke out in a residential area in Purok 9B, Lower Madapo, Barangay 8-A here on Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2019.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) investigation chief Fire Inspector Ramil Gillado said based on the investigation, the fire was caused by an overheated electrical apppliance inside one of the houses.
Gillado said the 50-minute fire was reported at around 2:25 p.m. and reached first alarm at 3:40 p.m.
He said a total of 29 houses were totally gutted while one were partially destroyed.
No one was reported hurt during the fire that was put under control at 4:06 p.m.
The damages were estimated at P3 million.
