DAVAO CITY -- Representatives of Arkiquest, the group organizing the game between PBA teams Magnolia Hotshots and TNT Katropa, confirmed that all systems are go for tomorrow’s showdown between the two powerhouse teams at the USEP Gymnasium here.
Arkiquest chairman Hector Magno said they tapped the City Engineers Office (CEO) to help with the inspection of the venue following the number of strong earthquakes that hit parts of Mindanao in the past month.
Magno, appearing at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Annex of SM City Davao on Thursday, showed the media the actual lawful occupancy permit issued for the USEP Gymnasium.
Arkiquest logistics head Rameses Tancontian said they want to assure the public that the necessary steps have been done to make sure everyone who watches the game is safe.
Emergency personnel will be stationed at strategic locations in and around the venue to take care of the security and safety of VIPs and all other audience members.
Neill Pagcaliwagan, who is in charge of ticket sales for the game, said that the recent earthquakes have not affected Davaoeños interest in witnessing the PBA live.
He added that they expect the remaining general patronage tickets to sell out within the day.
