BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office in Caraga Region (PRO-13) culminated on Thursday the 25th Police Community Relations (PCR) month celebration by awarding police units and individuals who contributed to the law enforcement campaign in the area.

In a statement, Maj. Renel  Serrano, PRO-13 Public Information Officer, said this year’s PCR month celebration carries the theme “Pinaigting na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Pulisya, Laban sa Covid-19 Pandemya”.

Agusan del Norte Governor Dale Corvera, the guest of honor and speaker of the activity, underscored the contributions of the Philippine National Police (PNP), especially in the "unified response" to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Agusan del Norte and the rest of Caraga Region.

Corvera said he personally witnessed the "sacrifices" of the PNP personnel, particularly in the manning of quarantine checkpoints and the conduct of visibility patrols.

“What we need now is to ensure our survival over this pandemic. But without the PNP that remains strong, our people cannot ensure protection from COVID-19 infection. Please never get tired. Continue to be wide-awake for the people,” Corvera said.

He also commended PRO-13 director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr., by describing the latter's leadership and performance as "above par."

The units that received awards were the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) as Best Police Provincial Office; the Bayugan City Police Station (BCPS) as the Outstanding City Police Station; and the Butuan City Police Station 1 (BCPS1) as the regional-level winner of the Online Slogan/Theme-making contest.
