MANILA – The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) announced on Wednesday that one of its bubble game officials tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19.

"PBA commissioner Willie Marcial was informed of the result 24 hours after the game official took the mandatory swab test along with 27 others last Oct. 19," the league said in a statement.

The PBA also said the official, who was kept anonymous, is already at the Athlete's Village in Capas and is up for another swab test.

Meanwhile, those who were in close contact with him during the ongoing bubble in Angeles have been placed in isolation and are scheduled for a retesting on Saturday.

Interestingly, the official's three previous mandatory tests yielded negative results.

The previous tests were done as a prerequisite for anyone to enter the bubble.

To pave the way for the sanitizing of the Quest Hotel, everyone has been barred on Wednesday to do certain activities like workouts, swimming, and jogging.

Despite the current situation inside the bubble, the scheduled twinbill at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center pushed through.

NLEX battles NorthPort in a game that is ongoing as of posting.

Meanwhile, Phoenix and Ginebra will collide in the second game later Wednesday.

However, stricter measures have been implemented.  Ivan Stewart Saldajeno
