SAP-atos: Behind SAP Bong Go’s limited-edition sneakers

Sneakerheads all over the country are trying to get their hands on a pair of World Balance’s newest basketball sneaker dubbed as the “3-Point King.”
The “3-Point King,” otherwise known as SAP-atos, is Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go’s signature basketball shoe.
Only 500 pairs have been made by the sports apparel manufacturer and it looks like only a lucky few are going to be able to see these bad boys in person. Due to the shoe’s limited production, World Balance will not be selling them in stores.
The sneaker is one of the first locally designed and manufactured shoes to pique the interest of sneakerheads and general consumers alike.
The shoe’s tongue tab is branded with the words “BONG GO,” while the words “3-Point King” are stitched at the sneaker’s heel.
The shoe box also features a caricature of SAP Bong Go and President Rodrigo Duterte with the phrase “Bong Go Tayo” written in white and green on one side and “Go Na Tayo” on the other.
The sneaker’s design suggests good lock down and foot security for the wearer due to its solid construction and strategic placement of rigid reinforcements needed for movements required in basketball.
It also features a cushioned midsole manufactured by World Balance called BounSe for softer landings in every step.
Go has been seen actively participating in basketball events nationwide, hence the signature sneaker that is specifically designed and built for the hardwood.
Go was also the center of attention in Philippine sports earlier this year when he and Sen. Manny Pacquiao joined the three-point shootout side event at the PBA All-Star Week’s kickoff event in Digos City.
