Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte again reminded the public not to give money to persons soliciting funds for her supposed Presidential Campaign in the 2022 National Elections.
Last January, Duterte issued a warning on the “scam” saying “wala po etong pahintulot mula sa akin. Huwag po kayong maniwala. Huwag po kayong magbigay.”
In her weekly ‘Special Hours with Mayor Sara Duterte’ program streamed via Davao City Disaster Radio’s Facebook Page and broadcasted thru 87.5 FM DXQQ on Monday, she said, “kung dunay mag-solicit sa inyuha, sa mga negosyante ug kwarta para gamitun kuno sa akua pagdagan sa Presidential Elections sa 2022 dili sila maghatag because until mahuman ang filing sa atuang candidacy which will happen on October, that will be the only day na mahibalu ta kung kinsa ang mudagan sa pagka-Pangulo.”
(If someone will solicit funds from you or from businessmen purportedly for my campaign in the Presidential Elections in 2022, do not give until the filing of Certificates of Candidacy ends in October. That will be the day when we will truly know who will run for President.)
She also pointed out she has never solicited money from anyone when she ran for Vice Mayor and Mayor of the city.
“Sa tanan nakong pagdagan. Nagdagan tag vice mayor, nagdagan tag mayor, nagdagan napud tag mayor usab. Wala ko sukad nagpasolicit o wala ko magsolicit sa mga negosyante o bisan kinsa man nga tao para motabang sa akoa sa pagdagan,” she stressed.
(In all my campaigns for Vice Mayor and twice for Mayor, I have never ever asked someone to solicit on my behalf nor have I personally solicited support from businessmen or anyone to help me in my campaign.)
She further emphasized that if she decides to run for any position, she will never resort to soliciting support.
“Pag abot nato sa October kung unsa man mahitabo, kung modagan ta sa bisan unsa nga posisyon, bisan unsa pa man na akong daganan, kung modagan man ko karong moabot nga 2022 nga elections, dili gihapon ko mag solicit. Dili gihapon ko magsulti sa ubang tawo nga magsolicit sila para motabang sa akong kampanya,” she said.
(Come October, whatever happens, if I will run for any position, assuming that I will run this 2022 elections, I will still not solicit funds. I will not tell other people to solicit for my campaign.)
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s daughter, who again topped a recent Presidential and Vice Presidential survey, appealed to everyone to “immediately report” such illegal activities “to the nearest police station wherever it may happen dili lang diri sa Davao City.”
“Kung mahimo, ipahibalo ninyo sa akua mismo personally para ako mismo ang maka-sulti didto sa tao nga hunungan ang ing-ana na ginabuhat,” she emphasized.
(If possible, inform me directly and I will personally talk to the person involved so I could tell him or her to stop what he or she is doing.) MDM
