SDD-CMO basketball league to open Oct 16

Davao’s Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office will be holding a basketball league for the city’s safety and security personnel starting mid-October.
The league was announced by SDD-CMO officer-in-charge Mikey Aportadera at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum on Thursday.
The league will be holding its opening ceremony and first games at the Davao City Police Office on October 16, Tuesday.
Games will be held on a twice-a-week basis at 4-7 p.m on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the corresponding camps of playing teams, following the tournament’s home and away set-up.
The league will run for a total of three weeks, with the championship game to be held at the Davao City Recreation Center.
The tournament will also feature side events to involve more participants from each camp.
The SDD-CMO will be giving away P300,000 to the champion, P200,000 to the 1strunner-up, and P100,000 to the 2ndrunner-up.
Opening day games will be between CTTMO and TF Davao, Public Safety and Philippine Coast Guard, and 911 and DCPO.
