DAVAO CITY — The authorities arrested three persons for selling overpriced medical supplies in two entrapment operations in this city this week.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Captain Rose Aguilar identified one of the suspects as Prince Samama Caracol, 25, a resident of Emerald Street, Ecoland, Phase 4, Talomo District.

Aguilar said undercover agents from the DCPO by Major Milan Azumen and from the Philippine Air Force led by First Lieutenant Manny Lirazan arrested Caracol on Thursday afternoon, April 2, in de Guzman Street, Barangay 14-B for selling medical supplies beyond their suggested retail price (SRP).

Aguilar said the operatives seized six boxes each containing 34 gallons of 4,000 milliliter 70 percent ethyl alcohol from the suspect. Authorities also confiscated a multicab and a cellular phone.

She said the total suggested retail price of the alcohol confiscated from Caracol should only amount to P16,592 at P488 each gallon.

The suspect, however, was selling each gallon at P850.

Earlier this week, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 11 arrested Gian Karlo Bacalso and a female suspect, both residents in the city for selling overpriced hand sanitizers.

Confiscated from the two suspects were 30 gallons of hand sanitizers valued at P19,550.
