National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Major General Guillermo Eleazar gave assurance on Monday that the opening of classes would go smoothly with the deployment of 11,000 police officers.
This as Eleazar personally inspected the situation at the President Corazon Aquino Elementary School and the Batasan Hills High School in Quezon City on the first day of classes on Monday.
"This is a shared responsibility," Eleazar said as he instructed the deployed police personnel to diligently man the traffic situation and ensure the safe and free flow of traffic.
Eleazar also encouraged the public to work actively with the police by reporting any untoward incident that may transpire such as bullying in all forms.
He assured the public that the police officers are trained to handle such untoward situations.
Eleazar also visited the Ramon Magsaysay High School and Sen. Benigno S. Aquino Jr. Elementary School in Manila where he told students to study hard.
"Mag-ingat, mag aral ng mabuti, mabuhay ng naaayon sa batas, at maging kapakipakinabang na mamayan (Be careful, study hard, follow the law, and be useful citizens),” he told students in the two schools.
Eleazar said he himself is a product of public school education from his first grade up to his Philippine Military Academy (PMA) days.
He reminded the students of their role in nation building. "Ang pag asa ng bayan ay nasa kabataan. Nasa inyo 'yun (The hope of the nation is in the youth. It’s in your hands),” he said.
