DAVAO CITY -- Southern Mindanao has become a hub for young entrepreneurs who now make up a good percentage of the region’s Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
“As your Mindanao rep to the national MSME Development Council, it gives me great joy to see a burgeoning of young entrepreneurs and MSMEs in Mindanao, ... and DAVAO is definitely at the core of it all,” National MSME Development Council (MSMED Council) Representative Mary Ann Montemayor said during the opening of the PINOY MSME EXPO! at the Abreeza Mall Wednesday.
Montemayor said the PINOY MSME Expo is a coming together of as “aspiring, start ups and established entrepreneurs who are contributing to Davao’s robust economy.”
“All of you are making a big difference in the vibrant business landscape of the city,” she said.
She said the Expo, which runs up to July 16, is an ideal platform to showcase how the industry has grown. She said it is right to give due recognition to the various enterprises who have given new innovations to traditional businesses.
“At no other time has the MSMEs been given so much focus than today ... our government is exhausting all means to empower, enable and equip this sector,” she said.
Montemayor saud the MSME has risen to become a buzzword of public and private partnerships which is a remarkable breakthrough the past years.
